A Rant and A Recipe

Today, you get two for one.I'll feel better after I rant and you'll feel better when you try the recipe.

Here we go----

What's up with people trying to covet your parking spot? I hate it when I'm leaving work, the parking garage is packed, and some idiot, who is late to work, follows me to my parking space, and then has the nerve to get pissed at me for not pulling out soon enough. What's up with that?I have actually had people honk their horns at me,because I wasn't pulling out fast enough to suit them.
One guy, actually, had the nerve to yell at me","Hey!You're making me late for work!" "Uhhh-no I'm not a--hole,you made yourself late for work.Now,.watch me while I sit here and balance my check book."
It's like at the mall, the day after Thanksgiving,or the day after Christmas.People following you to your car, just because they think you have a great parking space. My late brother used to love to go to his car,put the bags in the trunk, get in his car like he was getting ready to leave, and then he would get out and go back into the mall!He always said it was like pandemonium with all the people following him to the car.I used to tell him,"You're gonna get shot one of these days." He'd just laugh and say ,"They deserve it." He never got shot, either.
I can't help it if I get to work at a time when I can get one of the primo parking spaces. But,hey buddy,I don't owe you nothing.I am not rushing to my car and pulling RIGHT out ,just because you left home a little too late and are now going to be late for work.Get here at a decent time and you can get one too.I am not responsible for your work schedule, your parking space,or when you leave home.Sorry---but I have enough going on in my life to worry about whether you are late to work or not.
Get over it!!!

Now for the recipe------this ain't gonna be Julia Child posting. It's gonna be kind of casual.Just like I cook.

Oven Roasted Vegetables
Asparagus(amount is depending on how much your family likes asparagus-mine love it,so I make alot)-just make sure you leave it as a stalk.Don't cut it up.
Olive oil
Garlic powder or minced garlic(I find garlic powder gives a better flavor)
Kosher(or sea) salt
Parmesean cheese

Clean the asparagus(blah,blah,blah)
Put it on a cookie sheet.Generously sprinkle it with olive oil, garlic powder(or minced if that is what you have chosen),and kosher salt.
Bake at 425* for about 15 minutes(watch it closely-you want it to still have some crispness to it,but not too much crispness).
When done to your preference.remove, and sprinkle with parmesean cheese.
Enjoy!

You can also cook it on the grill-which is most tasty, too. Also, other vegetabkes can be done this way-ie:cauliflower, bell peppers, carrots, eggplant, celery, tomatoes, onions, or any combination of the above.I'm telling you, kids will eat their veggies this way.Worked for me....

Feel free to play with this recipe as you want.If you find another way it works, let me know.I always love a new recipe.

And that's it for rants and recipes, for today.

I hate to tell you this Jon BUT I rant about people who get into their cars and sit there or put on makeup or look for their car keys (couldn't they find them as they were walking to their car?) and pull out whenever they feel like it even though I've been sitting there waiting for the space. BUT I'd never honk the horn at them... I'm sorry but I just couldn't contain myself! :)

Thank you for the visit and the very kind comment.

I had a hearty chuckle at your narration of your brother!!

Good Lord...(blah blah blah) about cleaning aspargas probably isn't good enough for the kitchen challenged. Of course, people like me probably wouldn't even attempt to cook it in the first place. Photos. I need photos. Like a step-by-step thingy! :) My husband loves to eat (he's a little guy) and loves to cook (but he works too much to do so). I really should learn how to make such cool things for him...he's soooo appreciative when I do. Personally, I park far away from the door because I am claustrophobic and I feel way too cramped by others. No one wants my spot.
