Would You Like An Olive With That Martini?

We had mentioned in a previous post how many live olives we saw the first night we were here.Tonite,at low tide,it was incredible! They were everywhere.
Last year,at this time,it was Alphabet Cones. This year,it's the Olive Shell's turn we guess. It started getting exhausting returning them to deeper water.Especially, after ChrisC saw a shark cruising by.(No,JonJ that was not a dolphin fin-that was a shark! Some people do know the difference between the fins.Remember, you taught me well!)
Anywho-we digress.....

For your viewing pleasure........

And for those of you who miss the sound and surf of Sanibel Island, here ya go.........It's only 8 seconds(still working on that video thingy.Sorry......)

Wow!! What awesome shots Chris! I have not seen many live olives. Thanks for taking me along on the daily tour, it is the next best thing to being there. Can hardly wait to see what tomorrow brings!

I'm guessing they can't survive long out of the water since you were taking the time to return them. Interesting selection process of nature. Yes, you need to stay out of the water when there are sharks. I would miss your blogging! :) Enjoy your week.

How cool - I've never seen a live olive OR alphabet, but I would love to! (and I don't think I've ever seen a sanibel shark - although I am not so well taught to be sure!) I guess I need to change the timing of my trips to get more variety.

Olives are one of my many favorites. Never have seen a live one. We did get to see many live Whelks on our last trip, as well as other live shells. Always fun to reach into the water to pick up a shell, only to discover it "running" away from you!!
