The Days of Whine and Lysol............

Yep,it's official................
The flu has struck our household.............
Not both of us,mind you,
but the one (Jon) who didn't get a flu shot.
So,now our house smells like this....................... and someone (Jon) is eating this.......................
When he can keep something down,
or in him................
I think you get my point........
Did I mention he's either in bed,in the bathroom,or dying the most loveliest death ever?
Truly worthy of an Academy Award nomination,I must say.....
Not to mention the high fever, which kinda scares even me...........

Yep,we are now sleeping in separate bedrooms.
So,you can all run and tell your friends that we are
not
sleeping together.
(for right now)

Get your flu shot!!!!
Don't say you weren't warned.
It ain't worth it..........
just sayin..................

Oh my, I hope he gets well soon. And I hope I get through the season without the flu, still not taking the shot..., I figure, working from home I have little exposure. Will see!

Oh my gosh! I'm finally starting to feel better (for the most part) and getting back to blogging and find out it has hit your household as well.

Thank you for your sweet comment when I was down and out. FYI, my sister never caught if from me luckily, but I stayed in my bedroom and studio for the most part.

Here's what helped me with one of the not-so-pleasant aspects of the flu: The BRAT Diet, bananas, rice, applesauce and toast. You still eat what you normally eat, but add these in everyday. I made a big pot of white rice and then when I felt like eating I added a cup of rice to a can of soup. Not a big fan of plain applesauce (unless it's homemade) I added sliced banana.

Hope this helps, if not do what Lily's advice to me was, "You know they have a new oinkment for it... Unless it's bird flu... then you need a tweetment."

Three weeks for me, so I hope Jon feels better soon!

Here's the emergency signs for immediate medical treatment from flu.gov:

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath.
Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen.
Sudden dizziness.
Confusion.
Severe or persistent vomiting.
Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough.

Thank you for you all for your concern.
After much bossing around by me,Jon is back to his usual crabby self(debatable if that's a good thing....)
What we used:
Gatorade(we should buy stock)
Applesauce
Vernors(allowed to go flat, just like my mother used to do),and 7-UP when he got bored with the Vernors
Jello(strawberry is his fave),
Chicken soup(ya gotta love it)
Oyster crackers
Ice chips and water

I got my flu shot but unfortunately too late. I don't have the kind Jon had but I know how miserable he was. No urping etc. just exhausted, high temps etc. I hope he had a better nurse than I do!!!
