Step Away From The Sand and Surf..........

and you will find another Florida.................

One of ............

tidal flats covered with oyster clusters..................islands formed by mangroves.....................
where the wild things live.............
not a cartoon mouse to be found .....
you might find cypress lined, spring fed lakes..............
so beautiful in the morning sun light..............
peaceful,sleepy rivers..............
lined with Spanish Moss laden trees, and Saw Palmettos..............

Florida is so much more than the beach and the mouse...............

Beautiful sights but watch out for alligators! I saw several in scenes like these last May! Awesome!

Some lovely photographs there Chris, I suspect there are a lot of different parts of Florida that people don't know about-you have captured them nicely. Thanks for sharing:)

Hi!

I appreciate your post of my state. I've been a South Florida resident for 45 years and have just recently moved into the Tampa area. I do love Florida!

Amen, Chris! And this is what I love most about living here. Thanks so much for sharing these shots with us. There is one shot of a river that looks so fabulous that I always want to stop on I 95 and just take pictures. I haven't tried that yet, but I just might.

I posted about St. Augustine today. People also have a misconception that Florida is not "old," when St. A is older than JAMESTOWN!

Loved this post, and Happy OW from one Floridian to another...

Interesting watery views. When I think of Florida, I do think of all kinds of watery scenes. Thanks for giving us a look at the non-beachy Florida!
