Freezing……….

A starfish stunned by the recent cold temperatures,

in the Gulf of Mexico.

Here in Florida,the recent cold  spell and freezes played havoc on everything.

Even the sea critters.

Just yesterday,while shelling at Lighthouse Beach,on Sanibel Island,I came across this fellow……..

A Giant Hermit Crab (learn more here....)

Somehow he had lost his home(or was trying to move to bigger quarters),when the outgoing tide trapped him.

But he was not to be deterred.Fascinated,I sat and watched him for 30 minutes or so.Each time he seemed to have found open water,another wave would catch him and deposit him back up on the sand.

But he kept at it.Finally,he dug himself a hole in the sand,and waited.

Sure enough,the tide started coming in.A wave caught him and carried him out far enough that he could go on his merry way….

Lesson learned.

Just keep plugging away at this thing called life.

That crab never gave up.It never gave in.

When you think you are trapped in the downward spiral,eventually,if you are patient,the tide will turn.

As Kenny Chesney and Dave Matthews sang,”I’m alive and I am well.”

Persevere!

Beats the alternative…..

(Interesting fact-my astrological sign is Cancer,the Crab………)

It's A New Year..........

The family has all gone home.
The tree and decorations are put away.
It's time to look ahead to the new year.

After some bumps in the road this past year,here's hoping the new year is much better.....

Not being great on making resolutions,this year I did.

........Just a few.......

-Get back to working out every day.(w-e-l-l,maybe every other day....)
-More beach time.I live in Florida,fer cryin' out loud!
-Learn to use the cameras better.Maybe take a photography class or two.
-More beach time.
-Renovate the home office.(It's boring in here.)
-More beach time.
-Enjoy the time with my Dad.
-More beach time.
-Not hear another word about the Gosselins or who Tiger Woods slept with today.Enough is enough!And who really cares?
-Avoid lousy,nasty,mean people.(I can be like that,myself.I don't need any help in that.)
